They have a very dark, unusual patina on them with underhues of violet, pink, orange and charcoal and have a very bohemian, vintage look. This fabulous neck piece begin with a steel vintage butterfly finding that I re-sculpted the edges of to make the wings as unique as possible. The surface has a fine cross hatch texture. The body is made from smashed balls of granulation in a mix of metals including copper, bronze and brass. The face is a dimensional triangle hand hammered in a shot plate as are the smooth sided pyramids in the upper wings and the dimensional flowers in the lover wings, all are made in copper. The teardrops and diamond shapes are Sterling silver as are some of the irregular circles which are also hand hammered granulation balls. The little swirls on top of the flowers and the thin 'v' shapes are 14k gold filled. The butterfly is about 2 1/4" at the widest and 1 3/4" at the longest. The chain is Sterling silver with a dark, charcoal patina. Select a longer length to wear it low on the chest are a shorter length to wear as a collar.
